"It was hard to find interesting photographers connected to skateboard culture, when I started the artspace Basementizid Heilbronn in 2004. Until I discovered the large size black & white photographs from Henrik. Around this time he lived in Münster to study photography. His work was a breath of fresh air, a new perspective on conception and a shift in the German skate photography scene.
Besides the conflicts between analogue & digital photography, digital techniques opened up new possibilities. Henrik could develop his style further with the move to Berlin, worked with new people and within the new environment. How he chases the right moment, the lines, different layers, light and shade makes his work special to me.”
